Barnum Financial Group Completes SOC 2® Type 1 Examination
Independent, third-party examination of the firm’s controls relevant to security underscores Barnum’s commitment to protecting client, advisor, and employee information
Shelton, CT — June 23, 2026 — Barnum Financial Group, a financial planning and wealth management firm serving individuals, families, businesses, and organizations across the Northeast, today announced that it has completed its System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2® Type 1 examination. The milestone reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to strong operational controls, sound information security practices, and the trust placed in it by its clients, advisors, and employees.
A SOC 2 Type 1 report, prepared under standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), describes a service organization’s system and assesses whether the controls within that system are suitably designed as of a specified date. Barnum Financial Group received its first SOC 2 Type 1 report on the organization’s controls relevant to security. The examination provides an independent, third-party look at the security controls and practices the firm already has in place.
Pursuing a SOC 2 examination is voluntary. The examination was conducted by GBQ Partners,an independent third-party auditor, and was completed on May 18, 2026. Barnum Financial Group intends to continue strengthening its information securityprogramgoing forward.
