Over a career that has spanned more than two decades, Joe has been empowering organizations, teams, and individuals to continuously improve processes and outcomes in pursuit of excellence. As the Chief Financial Officer for Barnum Financial Group, he leads the firm’s Finance functions including business planning and analysis, strategic consulting, financial controls, and fiscal management oversight.
Prior to joining Barnum, Joe had several key roles at CIGNA Corporation including Vice President of Transformation and Operational Excellence. He served as Head of Enterprise Expense Management and Continuous Improvement Practice Leader for MassMutual Financial Group and had financial leadership roles at AETNA and General Electric earlier in his career.
A life-long learner, Joe has a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and Lean Silver Certification through ASQ. He earned an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.A. in Economics from St. Lawrence University. Joe is also the author of My Value Stream which applies continuous improvement methods to individual and community pursuits to generate more impactful outcomes from our time invested.
Joe lives in Connecticut with his wife and two daughters and enjoys outdoor wellness activities such as hiking and biking in his free time, along with writing.
